MSP Summit 2014

It is a dream come true for me. I got selected as the representative for Sri Lanka to visit and participate the Microsoft Student Partner Summit 2014 happening in Seattle.

Microsoft Student Partners in Sri Lanka are very energetic team. Conducting monthly Meetup,  workshops, helping out the university students in each Uni they represent and a lot more work.  All of this work is being done while they manage to excel in their academia. The Movitator around us is no other but Wellington Perera - DPE LeadMicrosoft Sri Lanka and he is the one who supports us at any time.

"Microsoft has invited over 75 Microsoft Student Partners (MSPs) from over 50 countries to attend the first annual Microsoft Student Partner Summit.  The MSP Summit is focused on celebrating the achievements these students have accomplished during their participation in the Microsoft Student Partner program, as well as provide them with an opportunity to develop their technical skills via deep-dive technical sessions and networking opportunities with product teams.  The weeklong event coincides with the Imagine Cup World Finals and is hosted in Seattle and at Microsoft headquarters in Redmond, Washington. " ImagineCup website

Out of 60 MSPs in Sri Lanka I became the person to visit there. And this seems to be a summit where the 75 MSPs from 50 different countries going to discuss about what is the process and progress of each country MSP program. And parallel to the Summit, Imagine Cup World Finals is also happening. I have got the chance to witness that too.

Apart from Summit work, they have the Sea Fair happening in the same week so I can see them too. A lot of things seem to be happening around there in the week starting from 29th July. My Expectation is to gain more and more knowledge from this program and share with my MSP community.
